In general, about 1-2 months in advance. I got married and my 29th September Bridal Shower is 21 August, when the mine about 5 weeks before the wedding.

I have this interesting article on premarital and WeddingChannel.com is useful. Check it out:

Bridal suite showers are usually held three to six weeks before the wedding, but that has changed greatly in recent years. The showers are closer or further away from the wedding, depending on what is convenient for the bride and hostess.

4-8 weeks before the wedding. Justification, if something happens to keep the bride or groom, God, or if they break the quasi-marriage, they should return all gifts to the guests and it is very painful. if you use the shower as close to the wedding as possible, not more than 2 months in advance.

It's not really important, especially when many people would travel a long distance to get there. They may also provide for holidays or weddings or births. Time with family members and key control what date works best for you.

But in about three months before the wedding, the norm seems to be, from what I saw.
